Microsoft Solves Air Force One Mystery

Last week Air Force One disappeared from air traffic control radar screens for 28 seconds. The FAA, worried that the President's life may be in danger, called in the company that programmed the air traffic computer system to investigate. Ironically, that company had recently been purchased by Microsoft Corporation. Working around the clock for nearly four days, Microsoft technicians finally solved the mystery of 'Air Force One's' disappearance.

Bill Gates today revealed the results of their investigation. "My people found a bug that effects the entire air traffic computer network. We are calling it the 'Air Force One' bug. Unfortunately, the bug's behavior is not predictable. What we do know is that any time the president is on 'Air Force One' there is the real danger that it will drop from radar screens. Should this happen at the wrong time 'Air Force One' could accidentally fly into a mountain or collide with another aircraft. Therefore, it is imperative that this problem be fixed as soon as possible."

When asked how much it would cost to fix the problem Gates replied with a smile, "It could cost 100's of millions of dollars to eradicate this bug. However, based upon our other government entanglements we may be willing to negotiate a lower price. "
