SHERBERT, MASSACHUSETTS - The Sherbert City Council today passed legislation outlawing ice cream trucks from delivering in their neighborhoods. The reason: Ice cream trucks are not fair because some kids cannot afford to buy ice cream. Said Maggie Silverwood the city councilwoman who wrote the legislation, "Have you ever seen the tears that are shed by children who cannot afford ice cream when these trucks pass by their homes? It just isn't fair. It isn't right that these mean-spirited ice cream truck drivers have been allowed to crush these poor children's self-esteems day after day. Thankfully those days are over. This law makes it illegal to drive an ice cream truck in our city until it is determined that all kids can afford to buy ice cream."
One parent who is an outspoken critic of this law criticized councilwoman Silverwood by saying, "What are you going to outlaw next? Maybe you should also get rid of Santa Claus because its not fair that he delivers toys to only the nice boys and girls."
Silverwood responded by saying, "That sounds like a good idea."
